1968 GIBSON Dove - Honorary Las Vegas Submission
Bill Binnings pictured here with his sunburst Gibson Dove. He's owned it since new (1968) & sent in the pic after visiting this site from his home out in Vegas. He does a regular gig with this fine guitar at the Sambalatte Coffee Shop in Summerlin Nevada. The playability and sound is the big deal, on this vintage acoustic. Bill gets compliments all the time from other guitarists. The tone is so full, resonant and mellow....the wood is wide-open after all these years and it is all-original with a perfect setup. 10 gauge 80/20 bronze coated D'Addario strings sing like a bird, huge tone, quick break-in, triple the life of a non-coated string (for real). Bill can't say enough about his one owner guit-fiddle. "You have to play and hear it to understand. It is a life changer"!!
Thanks for writing, Bill.
Rock with me Saturday night at the Wild Rice Festival in Deer River.

God Save the Queen
Beautiful 2008 Red Special from Brian May Guitars (very similar to the original Burns) as used by Steve Pritchard of Rogers, MN in the great Queen tribute "Crown Jewels". Steve picked up this axe specifically for this cool show which I attended at the Fine Line Music Cafe in Minneapolis on June 14th 2011. The band is now on temporary hiatus while searching for a new keyboardist for this project. Steve is also currently working with the Audio Marauders this fall. Click HERE to check their twin cities schedule. Maybe you'll get lucky, as Stevie just might be be swinging this axe for a few tunes.
Update: Just caught Mark from the Whatnots playing this same fine axe in the event center at St. Croix casino on 11/11/2011.

1963 Burns Trisonic
Highly coveted Burns of London, (pre-Baldwin). The only guitar ever made where you can turn the dial all the way to the bottom & achieve the "Wild Dog" sound. Featuring it's own custom trem unit which boasted 34 moving parts. Owned by David Sanborn, & used in the band "Stonehaven", in which we performed together in the late 70's & early 80's. Haven't seen another one like it in this town since. What a great classic from across the pond.

Check-Mate
Here's one of my axe's that I try to use regularly on the mid-west tour shows. It's got a Cheap Trick meets KISS sort of look to it, & it features gold plated hardware. Everyone says that it looks & sounds like a million bucks. This rare bass guitar has turned out to be a great investment, & it truly has the makings of a real nice working show piece. Want to see & hear this fine Ibanez in action around the twin cities? Click HERE & follow the TOUR link at the top.
